The Gamesmen are an Australian owned and operated family run business who have been trading since 1982. We have both a retail store in Penshurst NSW and an online fulfilment warehouse located in Riverwood. We sell video games, board games, toys and puzzles to our customers. We work as a team, value our employees and are passionate about what we do.

Current Positions

Customer Service Representative

FULL TIME

Our superstar Customer Service Representatives act as a primary point of contact for customers who have enquiries or need assistance with our products and services. You will be part of the Customer Care Department and interact with customers via telephone, email, or live chat. You will be a constant point of contact for customers, and you will have the opportunity to create and/or completely transform a customer’s experience with The Gamesmen. 

Our customer experience is extremely important to us, and as a Customer Service Representative you will be equally as passionate to provide speedy, high-quality, personable answers and solutions for our customers. 

Main responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email, and live chat in a professional and timely manner. These will be enquiries from our website, marketplaces, social media, live chat or any additional platforms that we may use.
  • Provide well-informed and accurate details about our products and/or services.
  • Processing orders, returns and exchanges.
  • Keeping accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
  • Notify customers promptly regarding order cancellations, delays, and out-of-stock products.
  • Handle customer complaints and concerns, providing reasonable and appropriate solutions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues relating to our gaming products and provide solutions for our customers.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and stay up to date with new gaming releases and products.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior support staff as required.
  • Continuously strive to improve the customer experience and identify areas for improvement within the Customer Service Department.
  • Address any customer-related issues with the website, products, orders, and deliveries to the relevant department/s.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards the customer at all times.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for Customer Service.
  • Initiate and process customer returns to ensure that the customer receives the best possible outcome.
  • Liaise with our suppliers and freight partners to resolve customer issues.
  • General administration duties. 

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional customer service skills to provide empathetic, personable replies. 
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong understanding of its importance in enhancing the customer experience and building a strong team environment.
  • Basic gaming hardware knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and go the extra mile, with the energy, drive, and positive attitude needed to deliver exceptional results.
  • Well organised, with the ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Familiar with CRM systems and practices.

Education and Experience

  • 4 years + experience in customer service role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Zen Desk or a similar CRM system
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • A passion for gaming and a familiarity with gaming hardware, accessories and software is a plus.
